First things first! Make sure the water is turned off!!!.
A word of caution: with any plumbing repair things can go wrong and you may find yourself in a situation where you have to call a plumber.
With a Philips screw driver remove the screws. once the screw is removed the handle may just pull off. If not see the image with the handle remover.
If the handle will not just pull off, you will need the handle puller.
If you are going to replace the stems and handles any way just grab the handle with a large pair of Channel locks and push down and up and the handle will break off the stem.
