This is what it looks like with the handle removed, note that it is not necessary to remove the chrome back plate to repair this faucet. This is a very important part of the repair, test to see how tight the nut is on the faucet. the nut needs to turn counter clockwise, STOP !!! Use minimum pressure to loosen this nut, if it does not feel like it will move with minimum pressure, STOP. Read the following so it will not happen to you.
